The Target registry gift bag is absolutely free for those that have a target baby registry. You pick it up in store at the customer service/returns area.
The gift bag comes with all sorts of goodies that you can use once baby arrives. However, it is best if you get your bag BEFORE the baby comes and preferably during your second trimester, although you could get it in your first trimester, but the coupons will probably expire before your due date.
There are plenty of things in the bag you can use while you are still pregnant and I liked knowing what all I would have available to me before my baby arrived so I could get it in order and not have to stress about it later. As you can tell, I was a serious nester.
Each bag contains the same items regardless of which store you go to when you get your bag; however, the contents of the bag change slightly from season to season. However, listed below are the things that have stayed relatively consistent.
1. Coupon Book
This coupon book is probably the most important item in the bag. It usually contains coupons from Starbucks, Up and Up, Gerber, and Cloud Island; However, it has previously contained coupons from Lansinoh, Tums, Palmer’s Massage Lotion, Honest Beauty products, Waterwipes, Diaper Genie, Huggies and more.
If you are anything like me, you will use the coupons to buy things that you didn’t get at your baby shower or things that you just want to have extra of on hand. You may not want to go out and get the things you need or wait for them to be delivered to you when your baby is here, and you need the items now.

2. Diapers
The goodie bags I have seen have always had Up and Up brand diapers and Honest Company diapers. The Up and Up diapers are a 2 pack of size 1 diapers and the Honest Company is a 2 pack of size 1 diapers, but it also comes with a 10-count pack of their baby wipes.
I love these travel sized packs of wipes because they allow you to tryout a particular brand’s wipes on your baby, but it also very light and able to be stored in any sized diaper bag. Not always will you want to carry around a diaper bag filled with the works, so this really provides you some flexibility.
3. Baby Bottle
Every bag I’ve seen has a 4 oz Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow bottle with a level 1 (0m+) nipple in it. However, depending on the season, some bags have also had a Philips Avent Natural Bottle in it as well.
I ended up giving both my Dr. Brown’s and my Avent bottles to a friend of mine who actually wanted Dr. Brown’s bottles. I knew that I wanted Boon Nursh bottles and you can check out my review of them here.
4. Pacifier
I’ve only ever seen a Nuk Orthodontic Pacifier (0-6m) in the gift bag. It also has a $1 coupon for another pacifier and a $2 coupon for a Nuk Simply Natural bottle. Attached to the coupons is an informational booklet about the bottles and pacifiers. You can check out my review of the Nuk Orthodontic Pacifier here.
5. Wipes
A 10-count pack of WaterWipes is usually included which is great because it allows you to see how well they work given how expensive they are, but it also has a coupon on the back of the packaging. Click here to check out my baby wipes comparison.

6. Breast Pump Information
I’ve researched many breast pump providers and the one suggested by Target is by far the best. McKesson Medical-Surgical is the best because they accept my insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield), they are cheaper than everyone else, and they ship quickly; click here to see the others I’ve researched and compared them to. I bought my Spectra S1 through them and I love it. See my full Spectra S1 review here. Mckesson charged $80 for the upgrade at the time, but everyone else charged at least $95 for it.
7. Product Samples
Such as Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion, Johnson’s and Johnson’s Bedtime Bath wash, Palmer’s Stretch Marks Massage Lotion, Eucerin Eczema Relief, Babyganics alcohol-free hand sanitizing wipe, Aquaphor Advanced Therapy Baby Healing Ointment, Lansinoh Disposable Nursing Pads and Breastmilk Storage Bags, and I know things will be changing every season.
This is really great because it allows you to see if you or your baby will have an immediate allergic reaction to the product before you buy it or ask for it in your baby registry.
8. The Gift Bag
It is reusable and it is a great way to store a backup baby kit or mommy kit in the car.
